Kingston man hospitalized after crash east of Lathrop

A Kingston resident was hurt Saturday evening in a collision at the intersection of two highways east of Lathrop,

Fifty-seven-year old Jeffrey Kipp was taken to Liberty Hospital with moderate injuries. The operator of a sports utility vehicle, 65-year old Barbara Carpenter of Cameron, was not reported hurt.

The accident happened five miles east of Lathrop at the intersection of Highways 69 and 116 as the SUV was northbound on Highway 69 when the driver failed to yield at a stop sign and hit the rear passenger side of the car, which was eastbound on Highway 116.

The damage was listed as extensive to the car and moderate to the SUV and both occupants were wearing seat belts.
