One dead, one hospitalized after crashing east of Salisbury

A Moberly man was fatally injured when the car he was driving overturned off Highway 24 east of Salisbury.

Thirty-five-year old Brandon Vanbibber was pronounced dead early Saturday at University Hospital in Columbia about two and one-half hours after the late Friday night crash.

The crash happened six miles east of Salisbury on Highway 24 when the eastbound car went off the right side of the road and overturned, ejecting Vanbibber. A passenger in the car, 33-year old Jassi Chambers of Iberia, was taken to University Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries.

The patrol reports neither person was wearing a seat belt.
