With the continued evolution of the Coronavirus outbreak in the United States and daily updates in the news media, the Grundy County Health Department is offering a two-page summary of Coronavirus information to further increase awareness and how to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases.
Businesses and others wanting to learn more about potentially preventing exposure to acute respiratory illnesses, including Covid-19, may contact the health department in Trenton. An electronic mailing list has been created for the health office staff to send updates. Their website offers a link that can be used to join the email list or people can address an email to [email protected]
The health department emergency planner, Kelli Hillerman, reports Coronavirus information has been obtained from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She calls it the most reliable source for information on the outbreak in the United States.
Basic information suggests avoiding close contact with people who are sick, cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue-then place the tissue in the trash; avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth; wash hands with soap and water for at least
20 seconds; clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces; and stay home when sick, except to seek medical care.
