The Chillicothe Police Department responded to various calls for service on Sunday, March 31, 2024. The day’s activities ranged from handling a suspicious vehicle to addressing a domestic dispute.
Throughout the day, the Chillicothe Police Department also conducted traffic stops, business checks, and vehicle checks, and pursued numerous investigations, with a total of 39 calls for service recorded.
06:00 AM Officers were dispatched to the 10 block of 10th Street following reports of a suspicious vehicle. The driver was seeking his family, who he claimed lived behind a residence in a “toy shack.” A temporary protection order was discovered against the driver. After investigation, no evidence supported his claim, and he was escorted from the area.
At 11:28 AM, officers and EMS attended to a juvenile bitten by a dog on the 400 block of Elm Street. The victim received medical attention at Hedrick Medical Center. The dog’s owner faced citations and a potential declaration of the animal as vicious by the City Council, in line with Animal Bite Procedures.
12:16 PM saw officers respond to a motor vehicle crash on the 600 block of W. Bus 36. Though no injuries were reported, a subject was arrested for driving with a revoked or suspended license and subsequently released with citations and a court date.
A disturbance at 02:35 PM in the 1200 block of Washington Street led to officers trespassing an intoxicated individual, who was later arrested for repeated trespassing offenses, including returning to the location after being trespassed earlier.
03:04 PM involved officers de-escalating a verbal domestic dispute in the 500 block of Clay Street, requiring no further action.
At 04:10 PM, a report of littering in the 1400 block of Forest Drive led to an investigation of a male subject for potentially driving while intoxicated. The subject was found sober and released after addressing the littering complaint.
Finally, at 05:47 PM, officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 1000 block of Washington Street. The involved male subject was located and, after determining the dispute was verbal, the parties agreed to separate to avoid further issues.
