A felon who reportedly led law enforcement on a multi-county pursuit starting in Linn County and ending at Marshall in February appeared in the Associate Division of Linn County Circuit Court on Thursday.

Matthew Guilford of Brookfield has been charged with felony first degree trafficking drugs or attempt—over statutory amount and possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid. Bond was continued at $50,000 cash only.

Authorities previously reported he was wanted on an arrest warrant on those as well as a federal parole warrant on an original charge of felon in possession of a firearm.

Guilford faces additional felony charges from the alleged pursuit of first-degree assault or attempt—serious physical injury or special victim; armed criminal action; resisting arrest, detention, or stop by fleeing—creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to any person; and possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid.

A felony count of resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony was dismissed on Thursday. No bond is listed for those charges.

Guilford was bound over to Division One for arraignment on the Linn County charges April 13th at 9 am.
