Trenton FFA placed 23rd out of 343 chapters in the state, earning a Top Chapter Award at the 90th Missouri FFA Convention.

Only ten percent of state chapters receive a top chapter designation each year. Chapter activity awards are sponsored by FCS Financial. Awards go to chapters achieving excellence in student, chapter and community development. Trenton FFA advisors are Kabel Oaks and Brook Kreatz.

The Trenton FFA student development activities included visits to ag programs at post-secondary institutions including NCMC’s Barton farm campus. Chapter activities included the Thank a Farmer program, a collaborative effort with the local newspaper. FFA members wrote articles to educate the public on facts and statistics about Missouri and American agriculture. Community activities include volunteering at the Missouri Days Festival. Members prepared and organized facilities, entered a parade float, held a petting zoo and provided a concession stand.  In addition, Trenton FFA members participated in Operation Clean Streets. This annual spring activity assigns FFA members to an area of town to help clean up trash and improve overall aesthetic value.

Thirty-five schools across the state have been recognized with Missouri FFA awards. Others from this area receiving Top Chapter awards are Braymer which placed 2nd; Bucklin was 5th Chillicothe was 14th, and Brookfield was ranked 18th.  The number one chapter, as recognized by the Missouri FFA, was Centralia.
