Hamilton man drowns in Grand River near Wabash Conservation Ramp in Daviess County

An incident occurred at the Grand River near the Wabash Conservation Ramp in Daviess County, where a Hamilton man was pronounced deceased following a drowning accident.

Jeremy A. Eaton, 41, of Hamilton, Missouri, was identified as the victim of the drowning incident. His vehicle was discovered submerged in the waters of the Grand River on December 6, 2023. A dragging operation conducted in the area led to the discovery of Eaton’s body.

A public appeal had been made by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office in the search for Eaton who was believed last seen on December 4th.

Daviess County Coroner Jason Smith pronounced Eaton deceased at 9:27 a.m. on December 8, 2023. The body was transported by the Daviess County Coroner to the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination.

This incident was investigated by Sergeant K.A. Schmutzler, assisted by Corporal B.E. Maudlin and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
