Two resurfacing projects on U.S. Route 36 through DeKalb County are scheduled to begin soon. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Herzog Contracting Corporation to complete both projects. Pavement repair to both sections begins next week, weather permitting

The first set of pavement repairs begin Monday, April 30, in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 36 from SW Taylor Road west of Stewartsville to the Route 33 North/Route M junction.

The second set of pavement repairs begin Monday, May 7, on both directions of U.S. Route 36 between Grindstone Creek and Sale Barn Road just east of Cameron. This section extends slightly over the county line into Caldwell County.

For both sets of repairs, traffic will be reduced to one lane around the work. Some lane closures could remain in place overnight in some locations. Work on each section is scheduled for two weeks.

Crews plan to work during daylight hours Monday through Saturday. Traffic control will be in place alerting motorists of the work. All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
