Trenton Middle School has announced the winners of its spelling bee held Wednesday morning.
The winners will compete at the Grundy County Spelling Bee at Grundy County R-5 Elementary School in Humphreys February 6th.
Shaylise Turner won the fifth-grade bee with the word Bollywood. Hunter Smith was the runner-up. Leilah Gonzalez and Brayden Bell are the first and second alternates.
Ava Frazier was the sixth-grade winner with the word intersect. Zane Michael received second place. Michael Shultz and Lillian Woods are the first and second alternates.
Sarah Washburn won the seventh-grade bee with the word exasperation. Kaylea Boyle was the runner-up. Wyatt Schneiderheinze and Haley Schultz are the first and second alternates.
Katie Markell was the eighth-grade winner with the word boisterously. Morgan King was the runner-up. Jonin Villacampa and Jaica Clark are the first and second alternates.
