A Stewartsville resident was killed when the van he was driving went off Highway 36 near Stewartsville late Saturday morning.
Fifty-five-year-old Bryan Candler of Stewartsville was pronounced dead at the scene one mile east of Stewartsville.
The highway patrol reports the eastbound van went off the left side of the road, hit a crossover embankment, became airborne, and overturned multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels in the median.
The van was demolished and the patrol reports Candler was not wearing a seat belt.
