An Albany resident was hurt early Sunday when the sports utility vehicle she was driving overturned off Highway 136 west of Albany.

Twenty-four-year-old Mercedes Wilson was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with moderate injuries.

The accident happened about six miles west of Albany on Highway 136 when the westbound SUV traveled off the right side of the road, slid back onto the pavement, went off the right side of the road again, and overturned, coming to rest in a ravine. The vehicle was demolished.

Ms. Wilson was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, however, the patrol accused her of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated/prior offender, and careless and imprudent driving.
