Seven face judge in Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court

Seven defendants facing various charges have waived preliminary hearings in the Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court with each having their cases bound over to Division One of the circuit court.

Kevin Michael Miller of Harrisonville has five counts: tampering with a motor vehicle, resisting or interfering with an arrest, stealing, distribution of a controlled substance in a protected location, and unlawful drug paraphernalia possession.

Milan resident Dustin Eli Nickell faces felony charges of second degree trafficking in drugs and resisting or interfering with an arrest. Three misdemeanors and two infractions also were certified to be heard in the higher court.

Michael Courtney of Milan has three charges of forgery involving alleged counterfeit bills and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Benjamin Millazo of Milan has one felony count of non-support plus four counts of non-support that are listed as misdemeanors.  Two others have cases involving non-support: Derek Wayne Brown of Galt and Timothy Johnson of Louisiana, Missouri.

Trenton resident Justin Wayne Stephenson faces charges of felony stealing and identity theft.

Among other cases in Associate Division, Brittaney Dowling of Trenton admitted to a probation violation. The court revoked probation and gave her a sentence of one year in the county jail. Execution of the sentence was stayed and Dowling was placed on two years probation. The original charge in the case was misdemeanor non-support.

Sentencing was announced for Donald Dewayne Brittain of Trenton after a court trial was held March 12th and taken under advisement at that time. On a charge of peace disturbance, the court imposed a fine of $1,000 plus court costs.
