Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox warns of a scam involving someone calling local residents claiming to be with his office.
The caller allegedly claims he or she can help residents avoid arrest by having money sent. Residents are encouraged to hang up if they receive a call like this.
Cox says the sheriff’s office does not do business that way.
