The Highway Patrol reports a Princeton woman sustained minor injuries when she fell asleep and the car she drove ran off the road eight miles south of Bethany Thursday morning.

An ambulance transported 68-year-old Donna Luper to the Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Luper drove south on Interstate 35 before she allegedly fell asleep, and the car traveled off the west side of the road and struck a tree. The vehicle came to rest on the west side of I-35 on its wheels facing southwest with moderate damage.

Luper wore a seat belt at the time of the crash with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and NTA Ambulance assisting at the scene.
