One current employee and one retired employee of Grundy Electric Cooperative have received the Northwest Missouri Electric Cooperative Service Award.
Office Manager Cathy McCay and retired Area Supervisor Howard Moffitt were presented the award at the Northwest Electric Power Cooperative’s Annual Meeting in Kansas City.
McKay began at Grundy Electric Cooperative in May 1979 as summer help and has held positions as customer service representative and accountant and has served as office manager since 1989. She is a Trenton native, graduated from Trenton High School, and continued her education at North Central Missouri College, Truman State University of Kirksville, and Tarkio College, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
McKay is an elder of the Hodge Presbyterian Church of Trenton and is serving or has served on several area boards.
Howard Moffitt recently retired from Grundy Electric Cooperative as an area supervisor in Grundy and surrounding counties, which he served as since 2000. He began his 30-year career with the company in June 1988 as an apprentice lineman receiving his journeyman lineman status in 1992 and worked on construction for the cooperative.
Moffitt is a member of the Coon Hunter’s Association and his coon dogs have won numerous awards.
The Northwest Missouri Electric Cooperative Service Award recognizes employees and directors for outstanding service to their cooperative and the communities they serve.
Northwest Electric Power Cooperative of Cameron is the generation and transmission cooperative that operates, builds, and maintains the high-voltage transmission system that serves Grundy Electric.
