Creighton Cox obit photoPastor Creighton Campbell Cox was born on November 8, 1944, in Milan, MO, and passed away on April 15, 2024, in Lee’s Summit, MO, surrounded by his family and friends.

Creighton was the son of Clell and Virginia Cox. He married Diane, the love of his life, on June 22, 1985. He is survived by his wife, Diane Cox; his brother, Louis (Norma) Cox of Carl Junction, MO; his sons, Creig (Lisa) Cox of Spring Hill, FL, and Christian (Tammy) Cox of Lee’s Summit, MO; his grandchildren, Alex, Quincy, and CJ Cox; and his nephews and nieces, Anthony, Dehric, Trent Fisher, Troy Fisher, Robyn Lancaster, Natalie Cox, and Mikaela Fortuna.

Throughout his 79 years, he resided in various Missouri towns including Blue Springs, Shell Knob, Springfield, Jefferson City, and Lone Jack, where he formed many cherished friendships.

Pastor Cox will be laid to rest in his hometown, Milan, MO. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home, 120 W. 4th St., Milan, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This will be followed by the funeral service at Milan First United Methodist Church, 120 W. 1st St., Milan, at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan will follow. On Wednesday, April 24, a celebration of his life will take place at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 1300 Lexington Rd, Pleasant Hill, MO, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Milan High School Athletic Booster Club.
