Laredo R-7 Board of Education approves base pay increase for teachers

The Laredo R-7 Board of Education approved a $400 increase in the base pay for teachers at the school which raises the base salary to $29,300. The board also approved paying $500 per month on employee health insurance.

Among proposals presented to the board last (Monday) evening were a two percent increase for non-certified staff and a two and a half percent increase for the administration; a 30 cent raise per hour for the para position; freezing bus salaries at current rates, and there was a discussion on extra duty contracts. A discussion also was held on next year’s school ladder incentive.

In an update pertaining to COVID-19, Laredo school employees will continue to be paid as if they were in session.

Sworn in for three-year terms on the Laredo school board were Casey Bowe and Sarah Lowrey. The board voted to retain the current officers. Brad Wilford is the president; Matt Foster is vice president; Kristi Urich is treasurer; Robin Griswold is the board secretary, and Angie Lowrey is the Missouri School Boards Association delegate.
