The Laredo R-7 Board of Education approved an increase in the base salary for certified staff at its meeting Monday evening.
The base was increased by $500, which makes it $28,400. The board approved a two point five percent increase for all non-certified staff and bus drivers as well as extra duty contracts. It also approved continuing to pay 40% of the career ladder, even though the state is not paying anything.
The board approved paying the Missouri School Boards Association dues. It will renew the Network for Educator Effectiveness contract for next year. The board will accept applications for the bookkeeper/secretary position until Friday afternoon April 20 at 1 o’clock.
Board secretary Mona Loyd administered the oath of office to Brad Wilford and Matt Foster for their three-year terms. The board reorganized and voted Brad Wilford as president, Matt Foster as vice president, Jason Meeker as treasurer, Mona Loyd as secretary, and Phil Fox as the Missouri School Boards Association delegate.
After an executive session, it was announced the board accepted the resignation of Mona Loyd as secretary/bookkeeper effective June 30th. It also voted to rehire non-certified staff and bus drivers Susan Cooksey, Keri Foster, David Davis, Charlie Bowe, Larry Loyd, Alex Marsh, and Cassidy Bethards.
The board approved extra duty contracts for fifth and sixth grade and seventh and eighth-grade basketball coach Michelle Lynch and seventh and eighth-grade class sponsor Tammy Meeker.
The board accepted contracts from Alicia Rojas for speech-language pathology for 2018-2019 at $56 per hour for up to 10 hours per week, from Melissa Perry for occupational therapist for $70 per hour for about two for four hours per week plus mileage, and with Amy Montgomery for guidance counselor at $38.95 per hour for one day a week from September 4th, 2018 to April 30th, 2019.
