The Highway Patrol reports a Novinger man sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle accident two miles north of Kirksville Friday evening caused by a car losing control on a slick road.

An ambulance transported 36-year-old Matthew Messinger to the Northeast Regional Medical Center. The other drivers, 36-year old Brian West of Coatsville and 32-year-old Nicole Sizemore of Callao, were reported as not injured.

West’s car traveled north on Highway 63 before losing control and sliding into the path of the two southbound vehicles: Messinger’s car and Sizemore’s van.

The two cars were totaled, and the van received moderate damage. West did not wear a seat belt, but the other occupants did.

The Adair County Sheriff’s Department, Adair County Ambulance, and Kirksville Fire Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
