Highway patrol arrests South Dakota man in Grundy County on felony DWI charges

A Hot Springs man, whom authorities say has four drunk driving convictions in South Dakota during a ten year period, was arrested Friday night while traveling Highway 65 in Grundy County.

60-year-old David Wayne Owen is held at the Grundy County Detention Center on a 25 thousand dollar cash only bond. He faces felony charges in Grundy County of driving while intoxicated, chronic offender.

The highway patrol arrest reports show Owen was stopped for alleged speeding on U-S 65 after 7:30 pm Friday.

The warrant shows David Owen as pleading guilty to three driving under the influence charges in Meade County, South Dakota in 2004, and twice in 2014; plus once in 2007 in Fall River County, South Dakota.

Owen is scheduled in the associate division of Grundy County Circuit Court on June 28th.
