The highway patrol reports four people were injured, three of them seriously, when two vehicles collided at a Nodaway County intersection Sunday afternoon at 1:45 pm five miles east of Maryville.

All of the injured were transported by ambulance to Mosiac Medical Center in Maryville.

The patrol reports serious injuries to the driver of the car, 20-year-old Dennis Hannah of Maryville as well as the driver of a pickup truck 19-year-old Tristen Emery of Hopkins and one of his passengers, 17-year-old Tyler Randolph of Ravenwood. Listed with moderate injuries was another passenger in the pickup, 18-year-old Kaitlin Hulette of Maryville.

An investigator said the pickup was northbound on Liberty Road and the car was eastbound on Highway 136 when one of the vehicles failed to halt for a stop sign. The impact demolished both vehicles with the pickup overturning off the north side of 136 once coming to rest on its wheels. The car also went off the north side of 136 and remained upright.

The report noted only Dennis Hannah, driving the car, was using a seat belt.
