The Highway Patrol reports the arrest of a Laredo man after a one-vehicle accident near Chula Friday night.

Fifty-three-year-old Donald Graybeal traveled north on Route V when his pickup truck crossed the center line about a mile and a half north of Chula. The Patrol reports the truck then ran off the west side of the road, struck a ditch, returned to the road, and came to rest on the east side of the road facing northeast with extensive damage.

The Patrol arrested Graybeal and accused him of felony driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the road resulting in an accident, vehicular assault, driving while suspended, and no seat belt. He was released and transported to Hedrick Medical Center for medical treatment with moderate injuries.

His passenger 52-year-old Laura Revels of Laredo was transported by medical helicopter to the Truman Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Patrol notes neither the driver nor the passenger wore a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The Livingston County and Grundy County sheriffs offices, Chillicothe EMS, and Chula First Responders assisted at the scene.
