Among cases processed in Division One of Grundy County Circuit Court:

Spickard resident Amos Slabaugh pleaded guilty to two counts of 1st-degree assault or attempt, allegedly involving minor children last October. Judge Steve Hudson sentenced Slabaugh to consecutive terms of ten years on each count with the Department of Corrections. The prison time was suspended, and Slabaugh was placed on five years of supervised probation. The court ordered the defendant to complete a mental health evaluation in Pennsylvania.

Tony Clay Dittemore of Trenton pleaded guilty to 3rd-degree felony assault as of February 13th. He received a four-year prison sentence, which was suspended in favor of five years of supervised probation. He is to pay $300 to the law enforcement fund.

Trenton resident Jarred Kelsall pleaded guilty to two counts stemming from a Christmas Day incident. Kelsall was sentenced to four years with the Department of Corrections. This term is to be served concurrently with a seven-year prison sentence when Kelsall admitted to a probation violation. Kelsall entered the plea on 1st-degree property damage. The court noted restitution of $8,000 has been made. He had been on probation since 2022 on an original charge of felony drug possession.

The court revoked probation for Jace Norman Baker of Spickard when he admitted to a violation. Baker was ordered to serve seven years in prison for felony driving while intoxicated, persistent offender, as of April 26th, 2023.

Daniel Isaiah Gray of Trenton admitted to a probation violation. Judge Hudson requested Gray be placed in court-ordered detention sanctions. If he completes it, Gray is to complete the Heartland recovery program. His original charge from August of the previous year was for 1st degree tampering with a motor vehicle.

Jesse Matthew Harding of Trenton saw his probation get revoked when he admitted to a violation. A previously issued sentence was executed, with Harding to serve a five-year prison term. The court requested Harding be placed in institutional treatment. If it’s completed, he’s to enter the Salvation Army program. His original charge was felony driving on a revoked/suspended license last November.

Jeremiah Scott Randall of Trenton pleaded guilty to 4th-degree domestic assault as of February 27th – third or subsequent offense. He was placed on five years of supervised probation. Randall was ordered to donate $300 to the law enforcement fund, retain the services of Preferred Family Healthcare, and have no contact with the victim.

Ignacio Dominick Guerrero of Trenton pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance as of February 12th. He was placed on five years of supervised probation; ordered to obtain a mental health assessment and follow recommendations; plus donate $300 to the law enforcement fund. For a misdemeanor count of “misusing 911”, Guerrero pleaded guilty and received credit for 30 days’ incarceration.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 11th for Semaj Foster of Indianola, Iowa, on two felony counts of trafficking drugs and one count of resisting arrest by fleeing. A Grundy County jury in January convicted Foster. The charges originated from an arrest in June of the previous year. The cases were moved to Grundy County on a change of venue from Harrison County.
