A retired Mizzou professor has received his Nobel Prize for Chemistry in Sweden. During a lecture over the weekend in Stockholm, George Smith continues to show his humble side.

Back home in Missouri, plenty of supporters gathered at a campus watch party in Columbia during the awards ceremony.

Smith’s prize includes 250,000-dollars. His work can help in the battle against diseases like cancer and Crohn’s.
