(Missourinet) – Missouri’s Fast Track Workforce Incentive Program offers tuition and fee coverage for adults advancing their education for high-demand jobs. Fast Track is available to eligible Missourians aged 25 or older who seek a certificate, degree, apprenticeship, or industry-recognized credential. Leroy Wade, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, informed a House budget subcommittee that this year, the average grant amount is approximately $3,700.
“I think this program is just on the cusp of reaching its potential,” says Wade. “We’ve seen quite a bit of growth. For example, we’ve already received more applications this year. We have over 1,400 applications, exceeding last year’s total. I believe the program will continue to expand.”
Grant recipients must repay the funds if they fail to live and work in Missouri for three years after completing their program or apprenticeship.
