The most recent unemployment rate for Grundy county is four percent.

That’s based on 202 persons on unemployment out of a civilian labor force of about five thousand (5,048) The figures are for October, the most recent information available from the Missouri Division of Employment Security.

The numbers are nearly identical to the Grundy County figures from one year ago (October 2015).

When compared to September of this year, the Grundy county unemployment rate is one-half of a percent lower. (22 fewer on unemployment) 

The statewide unemployment rate is five point one percent. The only area counties with October rates above that level include Linn at five point nine percent and Sullivan county at five point three percent.

Coming in lower than the statewide unemployment rate are area counties of: Carroll at four and a half percent; Putnam at four percent; DeKalb three point nine; Caldwell, Chariton, and Mercer at three point eight; Harrison and Livingston at three point six percent; Clinton is three and a half; Daviess at three point four; Gentry at three point two; and Worth County comes in at three percent.
