548th National Guard unit in Trenton to hold deployment ceremony

The Missouri National Guard’s 548th Transportation Company based in Trenton will hold a deployment ceremony at the Ketchum Community Center on the North Central Missouri College campus the afternoon of March 11 at 1:30.

Friends, family members, and supporters are invited to attend the ceremony.

The unit will leave after the ceremony for the final segment of training before leaving for a year-long overseas deployment.

The 548th Transportation Company will provide ground transportation for dry and refrigerated containerized cargo and other breakbulk cargo, ammunition, and bottled water as well as convoy security for military assets and civilian trucks.

The company deployed to Afghanistan in Operation Enduring Freedom May 2011 and returned in April 2012.

It completed 180 logistical support missions covering nearly 317,000 (316,990) miles and delivering 7,953 tons of supplies across Regional Command West and Southwest for six Forward Operating Bases and three Village Stability Operations.

Captain Tyler Perkins and First Sergeant Shannon Andrews lead the 548th Transportation Company.
