Plans call for the Mercer County Senior Center at Princeton to be rebuilt on the same site where it was destroyed by fire April 5th.

Although there’s no specific date for the construction, Ronna Clapham is hopeful it can be as soon as possible.

More is expected to be known following a meeting on Wednesday.

The Mercer County Senior Center has been providing home delivered meals, and beginning Monday, April 18, the center is to resume serving congregate meals, which will be available at the First Baptist Church at Princeton, Monday through Friday from 11:30 until 12:30.

Clapham explained an exception is Friday, April 22, when only home delivered meals will be available since the kitchen at the church is rented.

The specific amount of insurance coverage, and the amount of money that needs to be raised for the Mercer County Senior Center is yet to be determined.

Administrator Clapham said Gene Anderson, whose wife is on the senior center board, has established the internet-based Go Fund Me account and The Great Western Bank account, both for the senior center.

The goal listed on the Go Fund Me account is 25-thousand dollars, which was described online as just a small portion of what’s needed. She said the senior center would love donations.

Money from the Mercer County Senior Center’s operating account has been used to provide food for the meal deliveries
