A Columbia woman taken into custody following an investigation of a shooting in Unionville in December waived a preliminary hearing in the Associate Division of Putnam County Circuit Court.

The court accepted 22-year-old Victoria Hope Larsen’s waiver, and the case was bound over to appear in Division One on February 19, 2020. She and co-defendant 22-year-old John Daniel Crawford Murry of Columbia were charged with three felonies: first-degree assault or attempt—serious physical injury or special victim, first-degree burglary, and armed criminal action.

Murry is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in the Associate Division of Putnam County Circuit Court on April 15th.

Probable cause statements from Unionville Police Chief Joshua Mathes accuse Murry of entering an apartment at 107 South 16th Street in Unionville by kicking in the front door and physically assaulting and shooting a 24-year-old victim with a handgun, seriously injuring the person as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Media outlets previously reported the victim was Jeff Cunningham. Video footage from Casey’s General Store in Unionville reportedly showed Larsen with Murry about 30 minutes before the incident.
