A member of the Trenton FFA Chapter won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Education Proficiency Award at the 90th Missouri FFA Convention.

Mariah Fox of Galt is a freshman at North Central Missouri College in Trenton. Her supervised agricultural experience program consisted of hosting an agricultural radio show called Farm Fact Friday with Fox, which aired on KTTN-FM.

Fox has educated younger students on how certain foods are made, the food ingredients, and where they come from through her FFA chapter’s Food for America program. She designed her radio show from the information she collected from the project and advocated for agriculture by educating listeners. She has also been involved with a summer school petting zoo.

Fox has attended the Washington Leadership Conference, the Missouri Institute of Cooperatives speaking contest, and the Missouri FFA Public Speaking Academy. She is also a graduate of the Missouri Agribusiness Academy and has served as the Missouri FFA Association first vice president this past year.
