The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce has designated the week of April 29th through May 4th as Community Wide Clean Up Week.

Chamber Ambassador Jeanie Griffin says volunteers will clean the community that week to “get rid of the dead from winter” and get it ready for visitors coming for graduations, Mother’s Day, and other occasions.

Honorary Ambassador Sharon Barnett explains the Chamber assigns interested organizations to clean parts of Trenton with assigned areas this year similar to those in the past. They include city streets as well as around the courthouse, businesses, homes, city parks, and schools. More streets are available to adopt for Community-Wide Clean Up Week.

The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with the Trenton Street Department for brush removal. Residents can drop off brush and leaves on Northwest 27th Street by the Trap and Skeet Range all day May 4th. Leaves cannot be left in bags at the brush disposal site. The Trenton Street Department and the Missouri Department of Transportation will also sweep streets.

Rapid Removal Disposal has donated a dumpster for groups volunteering April 29th through May 4th and Rapid Removal has large appliance recycling for free at 86 Northwest 10th Avenue in Trenton. The trash disposal service will also pick up large pieces of furniture if someone calls ahead of time at 359-4287. The Solid Waste District has a glass recycling bin available at Rapid Removal as well, however, glass containers must be empty and clean.

Barnett says the Chamber is “pleased” with the response of support for Community-Wide Clean Up Week and any groups wishing to help clean a part of Trenton should contact the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce at 359-4324.
