Those who owe real estate and personal property taxes have until the end of December to pay and avoid a penalty and interest fees.
Regular hours at the Grundy County Collector’s office are weekdays from 8:30 until 4:30. During the last week of this month, the collector’s office will be closed on Monday, December 26th which is a holiday. Extended hours are scheduled December 27 through 30. The office will continue to open at 8:30 but remain open until 5 o’clock on December 27 through 29, and until 6 o’clock on Friday, December 30.
The office will be closed Saturday, December 31 and Monday, January 2.
Payments made by mail must be postmarked by December 31 to avoid interest and a penalty.
Those who did not receive a tax bill are asked to contact the assessor’s office before December 30 with required corrections to be made before December 30.
