Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge south of Sumner is accepting bids to determine who will farm three units on the refuge.
The farming would be done from the spring of 2018 to the fall of 2020 with units ranging from 163 to 530 acres.
A mandatory orientation meeting for interested parties will be held at the refuge the evening of November 2nd at 6 o’clock. The meeting will give a general overview of current farming regulations and the bidding process, the cropping plan for the period under consideration, and a bidding package.
Only those who attended the orientation will be allowed to submit a bid by November 10th at noon.
