Planning is underway for the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet.

The “Enchanting Evening at the Emerald Isle” themed event will be at the New Hope Training Center on Pleasant Plain in Trenton the evening of March 15th. Social hour will begin at 5:30, and the meal will be served at 6 o’clock.  Chamber President Debbie Carman notes the North Central Missouri College baseball team will once again help serve the meal. Nominations are being accepted for one large and Small Business of the Year until February 15th.

Anyone can nominate a business as long as the business is a Chamber member. A large business is defined as having 20 employees or more and small business is considered to be those with less than 20 employees. Anyone who nominates a business must provide reasons on the nomination form that the business should be named a Business of the Year.

The Business of the Year awards are one way to recognize businesses going “above and beyond for the community.” A committee chooses two Pillars of the Community by discussing what an individual has done throughout the years in regards to volunteer hours giving back to the community through their businesses or jobs. A committee also chooses an Organization of the Year. Carman says it is “very hard” to choose just one Organization of the Year and two Pillars of the Community.

The Chamber Banquet will once again include a lip sync contest as well as an auction throughout. Donations for the auction are still being accepted.

The banquet will also include a raffle for a Kansas City Royals Suite Package worth $3,000 donated by CFM Insurance. The 400 square feet suite is on the third base side and looks down into the Royals dugout. The package also includes 20 admission tickets and four parking passes. The Suite Package is subject to a future Royals home game this year.

Sponsorships are available for the Chamber Banquet with a gold sponsorship costing $500 which includes advertising and a silver sponsorship is $300 for a table of eight.

Nomination forms for Business of the Year and tickets for the banquet can be picked up at the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce Office. Tickets cost $35 per individual, which includes the meal.

Those wanting to donate an item for the auction or wanting more information should contact the Chamber Office at 660-359-4324 or see the Trenton Chamber of Commerce website.
