Passenger injured, driver arrested after utility vehicle crash in Sullivan County

Women from Green City and Unionville were in a utility vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in rural Sullivan County.

The passenger was injured and the driver was arrested in the accident that occurred six miles north of Green City.

Fifty-five-year-old Lisa Cullum of Green City was driving a utility terrain vehicle northbound on Ivy Wood Road when it ran off the road and struck a fence. Her passenger, 60-year-old-Peggy Hamilton of Unionville was taken by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville with moderate injuries. Cullum and Hamilton were both wearing a safety equipment.

A highway patrol arrest report accuses Lisa Cullum of felony driving while intoxicated involving serious physical injury to another person as well as careless and imprudent driving involving an accident.

Ms. Cullum was taken to the Sullivan County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
