The Princeton City Council has agreed to sell a lot on the Princeton square to the Mercer County Senior Center.
That is the lot where a fire damaged building housing a hair salon was removed by the city after the property was quit deeded to the city by the previous owner.
The lot is to be sold to the senior center for costs the city incurred in connection with that lot. City clerk Danette Snapp indicated the cost is estimated at approximately $7,500 including legal costs and demolition expenses minus an insurance collection.
The fire on the square in April destroyed the Mercer County Senior Center and Jeff’s Place bar, as well as heavily damaging the Better Image Salon, Spa, and Fitness.
In other news from the council meeting, a building permit was approved for Mike Homedale for storage units on Casteel Street.
A city-wide clean-up is to be held at Princeton either late this month or early next month with dates to be announced when they are confirmed.
