Livingston County Sheriff reports on investigations into property damage, domestic disturbance and burglary

Among investigations by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office recently, Sheriff Steve Cox reports investigation continues of property damage in the 600 block of Fellows in Utica.

Cox says an unknown person used a chainsaw to destroy a child’s fort and cut down several trees.

The sheriff’s office assisted the Chillicothe Police Department with a domestic investigation in which one person of interest allegedly fled to a residence outside of the city limits.

Cox notes a deputy and police officer went to the home and could smell burning marijuana. The officers made contact with a male subject, confiscated drug paraphernalia, and will forward the report to the prosecuting attorney for consideration of charges.

The investigation also continues on a possible burglary in the 24000 block of LIV 389.

Cox reports an unknown suspect or unknown suspects forced entry into a home unoccupied at the time and appear to have remained in the residence for a period of time.
