Grundy R-5 Board of Education approves graduation date

The Grundy County R-5 Board of Education approved the formation of an FFA Alumni Chapter Thursday evening. Approval was given following a presentation from the FFA advisor and chapter president.

The board approved purchases for a water bottle filling station for the high school and additional varsity basketball uniforms. The funds for the water bottle filling station are to come from the student council.

The administration will work with the Athletic Booster Club and donations to determine the cost to the Grundy R-5 School District for the basketball uniforms.

Graduation was set for the afternoon of May 17th at 2 o’clock in the high school gym. A purchase was approved for reading curriculum for the Title 1 program for $4,950. Bus routes were also approved.

The board previewed the new school district website, which is expected to go live in the next few weeks.

In a closed session, a resignation was approved from Jeni Moore as the district Parents as Teachers instructor. Ethan Bunnell was hired as an assistant softball coach.
