Gallatin R-5 Board of Ed updates salary schedules for 2024-2025

The Gallatin R-5 Board of Education approved salary schedules on April 16. The 2024-2025 certified salary schedule was amended with a base salary of $36,000. Classified salary schedules for Groups A, B, and C for 2024-2025 were approved as presented.

Approval was given to continue hosting the football cooperative with Tri-County R-7 for the next school year. Gallatin will discontinue its participation in the baseball cooperative at the end of the current school year.

A bid from Foster’s was approved to replace two air conditioners at an anticipated cost of $45,000. The air conditioners are located in the agricultural building and the high school cafeteria.

The board approved a fuel contract with MFA for the next school year at $3.14 per gallon for diesel.

Approval was given to an intent resolution from Raymond James. Dr. Michael Reik of Raymond James presented a plan to purchase two new buses for the district.

The board adopted a Missouri School Boards Association policy and procedure update. Approval was given to renew the district’s MSBA membership for the next school year.

The board approved the April 2 Certificate of Elections from the Daviess County clerk. Subsequently, the board was dissolved.

The oath of office was given to newly elected board members Pamela Critten and Dillon Bird for three-year terms.

The board reorganized. Jeff Donovan was elected president, and Pamela Critten was elected vice president.

Carrie Holcomb was appointed board secretary, and Vicki Corwin was appointed board treasurer.

Critten was designated as the MSBA delegate, and Donovan was designated as the MSBA alternate.

After a closed session, the board approved increasing Superintendent Dr. Justin Collins’s salary by $1,000 for the next school year.

All regular classified staff contracts were renewed for the next school year. Various extra-duty contracts were approved for the next school year.

Resignations were accepted from Mariah Huston and Third Grade Teacher Gretchen Brashear. They are effective at the end of the current school year.

The board offered teaching positions for the next school year to Cheyenne Martin, Lane Schuman, and Bailey Nelson.

Marilyn Frazier, Ashley Bardwell, and Bailey Nelson were added to the substitute list, and Christina French was added as a substitute cook. That vote was unanimous, seven to zero.

Karley Salmon was added to the substitute teaching list on a vote of six to zero with Board Member Jesse Bird abstaining.
