The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a total of 61 calls for service on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024. Here is an account of several of their day-to-day operations

01:40 a.m. – Officers were on proactive patrol in the 200 block of Washington St. when they spotted a male juvenile resembling the suspect from a recent traffic stop. Upon seeing the officers, the juvenile fled on foot. After a brief pursuit, involving the establishment of a perimeter, the juvenile was located hiding in the 200 block of Elm St. and surrendered without further incident. He was taken into custody and both his guardian and the Juvenile Office were notified.

09:48 a.m. – A 911 hang-up call from the 100 block of 2nd St. prompted officer response; however, it was determined to be accidental upon their arrival.

09:52 a.m. – Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision in the 600 block of Business 36 Highway. There were no injuries reported, but both vehicles were disabled. Officers took a report of the incident.

11:19 a.m. – Officers in the department lobby met with citizens to recover some property.

11:38 a.m. – Officers addressed a situation involving a male with an active Livingston County arrest warrant in the 1500 block of 3rd St. The male initially attempted to barricade himself but surrendered peacefully soon after. Unable to post the required bond, he was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

02:44 p.m. – Officers assisted Livingston County Deputies in performing a well-being check. The individual in question met with officers at the Chillicothe Police Department and confirmed he was in good health.

03:42 p.m. – Officers quickly located a runaway juvenile in the 10 block of 11th St. and returned him safely to his parents.

05:44 p.m. – A business sought advice on handling a trespassing issue with a problematic individual. Officers provided guidance on appropriate measures.

06:32 p.m. – Officers returned property to individuals in the lobby of the Chillicothe Police Department.

09:36 p.m. – A report of a fight in the 200 block of Washington St. was investigated. By the time officers arrived, all involved parties had dispersed, and no suspects or witnesses could be located. As a result, no report was filed.
