The Grundy County Museum is emphasizing a different feature each month and July will spotlight the museum’s Windmill.

During July, the museum staff will explain the role and history of windmills and demonstrate the operation of the museum’s 30-foot windmill.

Still available for viewing is this year’s feature exhibit, an assembly of 41 private collections displayed on the Exhibit Floor. Also, Caboose Coloring Books, a $5.00 value, are given free to children, when accompanied by an adult, and tooting the caboose whistle is encouraged.

In the Annex Building, World War I memorabilia are featured and the museum is soliciting artifacts, stories and memorabilia from the Korean War.

All buildings on the museum campus are open during the regular 2 to 5 pm weekend hours and the museum will be open the Fourth of July. Admission is free for children under 12 and active military families; admission for adults is $2.00.
