On the evening of Wednesday, April 10th, a fire in a house located east of Laredo, rendered it a complete loss. Jason Meeker, a firefighter, reported that upon the arrival of the Laredo Fire Protection District, flames were already engulfing the structure’s roof on Atom Drive.

According to Meeker, the property, owned by Mike Johnson, was unoccupied at the time of the incident. Johnson had leased the residence to hunters. Fortunately, there were no injuries as a result of the fire. The cause of the blaze remains undetermined.

The firefighting team from the Laredo Fire Protection District spent approximately four hours on the scene to manage and extinguish the fire.

For additional support, fire departments from Chula and Browning were requested to assist, specifically to provide tanker trucks. Furthermore, the Grundy Electric Cooperative was called to the scene to safely disconnect the power supply, ensuring the area was secure for the emergency response teams to carry out their duties.
