District One Veterans of Foreign Wars will meet this Saturday in Chillicothe to honor winners of the Voice of Democracy essay and Patriot Pen essay.
Winners of the 2016 Voice of Democracy Contest:
- 1st Naomi McManus Junior from Freedom Christian High School in Brookfield
- 2nd Courtney Goodman, a Sophomore from North Mercer R-3 high school
- 3rd Katy Grant, a Sophomore from Carrollton HS, Carrollton.
Winners of the 2016 Patriot Pen Contest:
- 1st Allison Higgins, 6th Grader, from Bishop Hogan School of Chillicothe
- 2nd Dylan Huffman, 7th Grader from Bosworth R-5 School
- 3rd Chloee Dorrell, 7th Grader from Father McCartan Memorial school at Marceline
Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) District One Meeting on Saturday, January 14 begins at 11 A.M. at VFW Post 858 in Chillicothe. The Joint Meeting will begin at 11 A.M. and the regular meeting will start after lunch.
