Chillicothe girl injured in crash east of Dawn

A Chillicothe girl received minor injuries when the pickup she was riding in, collided with another pickup, five miles east of Dawn Sunday evening.

The highway patrol reports 10-year-old Rachel Meservey was transported by Chillicothe emergency services to seek treatment.

The report noted a pickup driven by 47-year-old Marijane Meservey of Chillicothe was northbound on Route Z and attempted to avoid a pickup that was parked in the same lane because of mechanical issues. The left rear of the parked truck was hit. This vehicle had been operated by 52-year-old Shelley Rucker of Dawn.

Damage to the trucks ranged from moderate (Rucker) to extensive. (Meservey)

Both of the Meserveys were using safety devices.
