Trenton Middle School and Trenton High School students participate in STAR events

Trenton Middle School and Trenton High School participated in Region II STAR Events held at the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri on Tuesday, January 28 hosted by the Gallatin High School FCCLA Chapter.

The Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America is a national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and social issues through Family Consumer Sciences education.

STAR Events is an FCCLA program of competitive events designed to recognize individuals and chapters for their proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills and occupational preparation.

Each year regional contests are held in various subject areas whereby the Gold Medal Winners advance to State competition and possibly on to the national competition. The following students from Trenton Middle School competed in the corresponding events:

Jacob Horton – Career Investigation – Level 1  – Gold;

Colton Hammond – Career Investigation – Level 1 – Gold:

Kali Burchett and Reece Weldon – Food Innovations – Level 1 – Gold;

Mirena King and Baylee McCullough – Interpersonal Communications – Level 1 – Gold; 

Barbara Eugenio and Alhanna Milazzo – Nutrition and Wellness – Level 1 – Gold;

Emma Roberts and Collin Taylor – Professional Presentation – Level 1 – Gold;

Avery Clark, Kaegen Croy, and Arianna Ortega- Repurpose and Redesign- level 1 – Gold;

Katelyn Clark and Abby Simpson – Sustainability Challenge- Level 1 – Gold;

Jena Hunter, Samantha Hoselton, Nadia White – National Programs – Level 1 – Silver.

The following students from Trenton High School competed in the corresponding events:  

Eliana Cowling – Entrepreneurship -Level 2 – Gold;

McKenna Cox – FCCLA Knowledge – Level 3 – Silver;

Maurissa Bonta and Krysta McCullough -Focus on Children – Level 2 – Gold;

Makenzie Epperson, Chloe Hall, and Sarah Washburn- Public Policy Advocate- Level 2- Silver.

Harley Hall, Kaylor Farris, Zoie McGowan, Summer Martin, Kammi Phillips, Delaney Franklin, and Kaylea Boyle attended as youth judges. Advisers are Mrs. Suzi Beck and Ms. Rachel Ferry. 

All Students who received a Gold rating will be attending the State FCCLA Leadership Conference held at Tan-Tar-A on March 15-17, 2020, where they will be competing at the State STAR Events Competition.
