A mother and daughter have been arrested on Grundy County misdemeanor charges alleging endangering the welfare of a minor under the age of 17.
Forty eight year-old Carol Irene Smart of Spickard is accused of negligence in a manner that authorities say created substantial risk to the child by failing to provide a safe environment.
23-year-old Katie Amanda Smart of Trenton is accused by officers of failing to provide medical attention and care of the child while in her custody.
Both women have five thousand dollars cash bonds pending appearances May 10th in the associate division of circuit court.
