The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission recently awarded a contract to Chester Bross of Palmyra for a resurfacing project on U. S. Route 63 in Adair and Macon counties.

The project will begin on the northbound lanes about two miles north of Missouri Route 156 in Macon County to two point six miles north of Route KK in Adair County.

The southbound work will begin one and a half miles north of Missouri 156 and go to one point three miles south of Route M in Macon County. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone while work is completed.

The project will include crews milling out the existing surface and placing a new asphalt surface.

Work could start as early as this Spring and should be completed by Fall.

The project will cost a total of $2,951,395.
