The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office administrative facility at Chillicothe has temporarily restricted access for the general public.

Sheriff Steve Cox reports the changes include calling the office Monday through Friday from 8 to 4 o’clock for administrative needs. Those non-emergency needs include questions about the civil process, eviction notices, copies of reports, bond information, and other business that does not require a physical law enforcement response.

Anyone wanting to make a walk-in report needs to first call the administrative office at 660-646-0515 or dispatch at 660-646-2121. Persons who need a law enforcement officer to respond should call the dispatch or 911 for emergencies.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office will not provide fingerprint services to the general public, carrying a concealed weapon renewals will not take place, and new CCW permit applications will not be accepted or processed until at least May 4th. CCW renewals will not be charged the $10 monthly late fee if the permit is not six months or more expired. Persons approaching six months expiration can call for an appointment.

Bond supervision services will not meet at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office until further notice. Contact the bond supervision services worker at the Hamilton office at 816-583-1050.

Registered offenders will receive instructions by mail on how those obligations will be handled. Anyone needing to register as a new offender in Livingston County should first call the sheriff’s office and schedule an appointment.

Sheriff Cox notes his office will continue to investigate crimes, patrol, handle calls for service, help people, and complete other statutory obligations.
