Head-on collision on Highway 63 injures Kirksville woman

A head-on collision on Highway 63, one mile south of Kirksville, Missouri, resulted in moderate injuries to one of the drivers, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The accident, which occurred at 1:15 p.m. on April 9, 2024, involved a 2016 Jeep Cherokee driven by Deborah L. Case, 57, of Kirksville, and a 2013 Ford Edge driven by Linda P. Harrelson, 77, also of Kirksville.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the Jeep Cherokee was traveling northbound when it entered the southbound lane, leading to a head-on collision with the Ford Edge. The impact caused extensive damage to the Jeep Cherokee and total damage to the Ford Edge, necessitating both vehicles to be towed from the scene by Kirksville Auto Works.

Linda P. Harrelson, the driver of the Ford Edge, sustained moderate injuries in the accident. She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. Harrelson was transported by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Master Sergeant Gaines, Corporal Mason, Trooper Fuller, the Adair County Sheriff’s Department, Adair County EMS, and the Adair County Fire Department.
