A Hamilton man arrested by the Highway Patrol in Caldwell County on Wednesday evening, December 13, has been charged with three felony counts related to an alleged road rage incident.

Forty-five-year-old Joshua Dale Wilson has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault and one count of first-degree property damage.

According to a probable cause statement, a Patrol trooper responded to a motor vehicle crash and was informed that seven individuals had started fighting. Statements from the occupants and evidence at the scene indicated that the incident was a result of road rage, involving Wilson’s vehicle striking another.

Following the collision, it is alleged that Wilson was struck on the left side of his face with a right hand. The assault resulted in bleeding from his cheek and ear. The probable cause statement further details that Wilson took one individual to the ground, and subsequently, another person mounted Wilson’s back.
